According to The Wrap, Joan Chen (Marco Polo, Lust, Caution), Hayden Szeto (The Edge of Seventeen), Hong-Chi Lee, Yo-Hsing Fang along with Fiona Fu, Margot Bingham, Kuei Mei Yang, and James Saito have been cast in Netflix‘s upcoming family drama film Tigertail from Emmy-Award winning creator Alan Yang (Master of None, Parks and Recreation).
Tigertail is a multi-generational family drama, which was inspired by Yang’s own personal life. The film will be set in the beginning of the 1950s and will tell stories of “regret, longing, passion, and repression.” In addition to the new cast members, the film stars John Cho (Star Trek, Searching), Tzi Ma (Arrival) and Christine Ko (Hawaii Five-0) along with Yang also set to appear in the film.
Yang will also serve as a director, writer and producer on Tigertail along with Charles D. King (Mudbound), Kim Roth (Mudbound), and Poppy Hanks (Sorry To Bother You). Executive producers are Peter Pastorelli (Beasts of No Nation) and David Lee (Life of Pi).
Yang, who won an Emmy for his work on Master of None in 2016, has also created the romantic comedy series Forever, which stars Maya Rudolph (Bridesmaids, The Happytime Murders) and Fred Armisen (Final Space, Portlandia). The cast also includes Catherine Keener (The 40-Year-Old Virgin), Kym Whitley (Young & Hungry), and Noah Robbins (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt).
